Yeah, I saw this today in the Chronicle and wondered where I would see it next. I'm not sure I could work up any enthusiasm for that blog!

Maybe. But I can't see ++Benedict writing a blog anyway. Like it or not, anything he says, even offhandedly, is taken as magesterial teaching by his Church. same with the whole hierarchy, except maybe at the parish level. It's different for us Prots - if yoiu don't liek something I say in my blog, write a comment! Besides if the sacraments are valid it doesn't much matter what I as a priest with some very small modicum of teaching authority say - salvation is assured regardless.
But it would kinda be fun nonetheless, no? :-)
