RFSJuniors is still in second and loving it! Matt Morris and C.M. Wang had great outings as well, but Jarrod Washburn lost it in the 5th inning of his game, giving up 5 ERs before he was retired. Matt went 8 IP with a 1.13 ERA and 6 KOs, but lost in a pitchers' duel 0-1 to Arizona. Wang pitched all 9 with a great 1.0 ERA. That was enough, even with Jarrod's poor showing, to raise my ERA ranking a full point in the league standings. I need to think hard about Jarrod though - he's on the chopping block for sure. I never understand why owners will dump a pitcher after 1 bad outing though (Jarrod's ERA has steadily climbed his last 4 out 5 starts); ERA is bound to climb over the course of the season, and it still seems better to me to have a good rotation most of the time that you can usually count on. Every pitcher is going to be creamed at some point in the season; you hope it's never you, but trying to play the odds and avoid it seems to me to be too hard and take too much time.
And Gary Sheffield, who had an extremely slow start this season, went 2-for-4 with 2 HR and 5 RBI yesterday!
